The benefits of automated
internal production supply

Hover to turn your challenges into benefits with Fernride

Icon inefficiency
Loading times

Drivers spend 90% of their time waiting at loading gates while actual on-site driving takes up only 10% of their time.

Icon efficiency
Productivity

Remote operations eliminate idle times. While one truck is being loaded or unloaded, our teleoperator can drive other on-site trucks, enabling multiple trucks to be controlled by a single teleoperator.

Not future-proof

Contractors need to guarantee on-site production supply while facing driver shortages and the need to automate.

Productivity

Teleoperation guarantees a stable and utmost reliable internal production supply runs by combining abilities of todays drivers with autonomous technologies.

Icon ecological negative
Emissions

Today’s on-site production supply is run by high-pollution diesel trucks, while the pressure to reduce the company’s carbon footprint increases.

Icon ecological positive
Sustainability

The deployment of next-generation electric trucks on your site helps to minimize your carbon footprint and noise emissions dramatically while cutting down on fuel costs.

Backgrounds on automated production supply

Frequently asked questions

How complicated is it to integrate a driverless, teleoperated truck into a tough production supply chain?
+

Our goal is to maintain the on-site flow of internal production supply at all times – without changing or altering your existing processes. Our step-by-step approach guarantees seamless integration of a driverless vehicle into your supply chain.

Can driverless trucks meet the demands of today’s factory supply chain?
+

We seamlessly integrate teleoperation into your daily operations by combining the human skills of a remote driver with the advanced capabilities of automation. Working alongside conventional trucks, the teleoperated vehicles take over critical processes and primary driving tasks, while staff on the ground continue to perform secondary tasks such as securing loads or opening trailers.

Is it safe to operate driverless trucks on a production site?
+

Your employees’ safety is of utmost importance to us. After a careful discussion with you, we will implement a rigorous safety concept that will be respected by our engineers, teleoperators and the ground staff. Besides hardware components (such as pedestrian detection and emergency stops) and educating on-site personnel, safe drivers and quality standards play a major role.

How do you handle sensitive or personal data?
+

Personal or site information is and will remain confidential and protected. The handling of sensitive data will be carried out in accordance with EU legislation, and all video data will be deleted – never stored – very shortly after it has been recorded. Data security issues will be discussed and approved by your data security teams prior to operations.
